Chrismas & New Years

We hope you all enjoyed the Holidays, we certainly did! It was so nice having Bodie back. We spent Christmas with some great friends here in Spokane. Christmas was great, although I didnt snap many photo's. Santa treated us well this year. Bodie got plenty of fitness supplements for his training this quarter, as well as a new pocket knife, clothes and shoes. I was suprised with a new camera, clothes and shoes that I love dearly, and we were both super excited for our new sonicare toothbrushes, ice cream maker, and lots more fun things. It was a wonderful Christmas and we enjoyed spending quality time together. Thank you to all our family and friends for the xmas cards, gifts, and good company. Its so nice getting updates from those we haven't heard from in a while. Bodie has been snowboarding a couple times this past week and he's loving it. We haven't had much snow yet, but i'm sure more will be coming our way. New Years was a great time. Our good friends Scottie & Brene'e invited us to tag along with them and we had a fun night of games, munching on great food, and just relaxing.

I got some bathtub markers in my stocking and this is what I woke up to the morning Bodie went boarding. Love notes, especially ones like this one!

He's home...

And I could not be HAPPIER! Except he has been home for a couple weeks now, and he is leaving tomorrow morning to go back till Dec. 16th. So that is not s0 great, but the last couple weeks have been way great! We have just been hangin out with good friends and enjoying eachother. I'm excited for him to hurry and get work done in LA and then get back for Christmas and New Years, then he may be heading to New York. We aren't sure yet. Also last month my dad and stepmom came to Spokane for the first time. Bodie wasn't here, but I was able to show them a good time regardless. We did quite a bit while they were in town, but I only snapped a few pics from a few events...

I took them to Greenbluff, which is a bunch of family owned fruit farms where you can go pick fresh fruit and do lots of fun things with family. This was a little shop we stopped at to eat some lunch..

They had homemade honey for sale from all these bee's. Looked so good!

We had a great time and I loved spending quality time with my dad and stepmom. I hope they can get back here sooner than later.

Now onto Thanksgiving...Bodie and I were invited to do Thanksgiving with the Stephens family. We had a great time with them. I was happy to get some pics with Bodie while he was here so I can look at his cute face while he's gone.

Good friends Alisabeth and Spencer. Spencer is Bodie's best buddy here in Spokane. While Bodie is 27 and Spencer is 14, they have a ball together. Spencer keeps Bodie young and I wouldnt have it any other way.

I wanted to brag a little bit real quick about my amazing husband. In 4 1/2 years of marriage the longest we had ever been apart was maybe 2 days. Then all of a sudden he left to LA for work for what we thought would be 3-4 weeks, it ended up being 3 1/2 months. We did see eachother 2 times during those months, but it was still a very new experience for the both of us. It has been so nice having him back, and also a little bit difficult haha, which I didnt expect. Reasons why:

1. Everything in my house stays nicely in its place, laundry done, dishes put away, tidy. He comes home, everything is out of place, always laundry, dishes...he's like a little kid and I find the things sitting in the weirdest places. Frustrating, but cute.

2. I am not a morning person AT ALL. 2nd day he was here, 5:45 am, "Kate lets go to the gym! Get up!" I was not happy about this. I don't do anything before 7-8am. So what did he do? Turned on music of one of my favorite bands, and jumped on the bed. I had to laugh. He knows me so well. I was glad we went to the gym. It felt great.

3. Thanksgiving morning: Turkey Trot! Lets go running! So we end up running 6 miles, insane hill, cold, and man I just wanted to give up. He is alot faster than me, and about a million times more mentally tough than me, and he pushed me and kept me going when I was sure I wanted to walk and I appreciated that so much.

4. I am on time to church every single Sunday. Today we were late because of him and I was so frustrated. In the end it didnt matter, we got there, and it was great. I just love sitting with him in church because the last 3 months people have been wondering what my "story" is, I'm pretty sure thinking I must be divorced or something. Now they know he really does exist.

So in the end, I just love everything about him, even when I am so frustrated at times. Everywhere we go, everyone that ever comments guesses that Bodie is about 19yrs old. Its crazy because he'll be 28. He acts like a little kid though. I just love it so much and I hope he never really grows up. He is just so perfect for me.

13 days of complete JOY!

I just got back from spending 13 amazing days with my hubs- 8 in Utah, 5 in LA. He is still in LA working. It was so great taking some time together and spend it with family and friends. I hadn't seen Bodie for 2 months (with the exception of Labor Day weekend...a measly 3 days) and it was WONDERFUL. Felt like a 2nd honeymoon :) Utah was a complete blast. There's nothing quite like going home. We did a lot of fun things: Bodie went to some MMA fights with some buddies that he hadn't seen in a while, and I met up with the girls to have dinner and catch up on each others lives; We met up with our best friends and their kids and had a bon fire out of the desert, got family pics taken with Bodie's family, went on a really neat bike ride at the Wedge, watched some general conference, played a few rounds of golf (Bodie's favorite thing right now), was able to go to a Zumba class (fun!), watched my little sister Emily's volleyball games, went out to dinner a couple times, visited with family...and then the Utah visit came to an end. I took Bodie back to the airport so he could head back to LA for another month. I stayed in Salt Lake for a couple more days for a company conference event,(which was SO great!) and had a fabulous time with my awesome team. Then I hopped on a plane to LA to stay with Bodie for a few days. LA was such a good time. We just spent the days being together, going to movies, going to the beach, eating out at some nice restaurants, shopping of course, and what would a vacation be with out MORE golfing! We went to also went Hollywood, and just relaxed. It was a quick but GREAT 5 days! We also had the opportunity to spend some time at another Primerica office and it was great seeing and learning about what they do there. Got some good ideas to bring back home. It was a sad day when I had to leave my babe and board the plane to come back to Spokane. I thoroughly enjoyed the palm trees and perfect weather that LA had to offer. The traffic, however, I was happy to be done with. It was such a great little vacation, and I miss our family and friends like crazy. Can't wait to see them again. Mostly I cant wait to see Bodie. He should be home in about 2 1/2 weeks, for a total of 3 months that he's been gone! Until then its just work, work, work for me. (I've been slackin!) In a few days though my Dad and stepmom Lynda will be arriving in Spokane for a few days, and I am excited to show them this city. It's their first time coming. On with the pics!

First thing we did when we got to SLC...got Bodie some new boots! He's been wanting some for a long time. It was so cute, we got to my dads, he grabbed a bowl of cereal, and opened his new box of shoes and just looked at them while he ate. He loves them! So cute. And yes...that is green, its not your eyes fooling you.

We had the chance to go on a sweet mtn bike ride out on the desert at the WEDGE. For those of you who like biking I would strongly recommend this trail!

We ate at a cowboy steakhouse type place. This is what they gave us for water. A huge carafe for each of us!

Huge meals. And you had better believe I ate it all. It was so good!

We said we didnt want dessert, but the waitress brought this out anyway! HUGE thing of cinnomen apple cotton candy! We took it to go, well most of it, and it was really yummy!

We had such a fun fun FUN time! I kinda wish I was still there, but I was ready to get home and get to work. Can't wait for our next vacation! We are looking at Orland, Florida in February! Can't wait!

Is it really September already? WOW. This has by far been the busiest summer of our lives! So much has happened. So much to update. I'll just get right to the good stuff,

A list of events followed by pics...

JUNE:
June 8th- we celebrated 4 yrs of marriage. WOW. Amazing right? I just cant believe it. We went to a nice dinner and played a round of golf to celebrate. No pics on that one.
June 16-19th- I went to Atlanta, GA for my company convention. What an incredible experience. One of the best weekends by far.
June 18th- Bodie had a birthday and turned 27! (thats right, I was in Atlanta for his big day, sorry babe) But he had fun nonetheless
June 25th- Hoopfest-pics to follow (so FUN!)

JULY
July 4th-22nd Bodies parents came to town, and so did my lil sis Emily. Had fun celebrating the 4th of July. His parents left after a week, but Emily stayed for another 2. We had one of the best summers together. It was complete blast. Loved having her here.
July 26th-Sept 2nd- Bodie left again, yes for 5 straight weeks, to LA.

AUGUST
While he was gone all of August I moved us out of our old apt, and into a new home, a duplex that is, that we we're so excited about..but it needed a TON of work, so I spent the entire month painting, cleaning, painting, and...more painting. Bottom line: well worth it, but I dont want to ever paint again. (I would love to hire someone though)

Sept 2nd-5th, this past weekend, , labor day weekend, Bodie was home for 3 days. We spent good quality time together, and also went golfing, and to Silverwood Theme park. Then Monday he left again, for another 2-4 weeks.

So that's it, in a nutshell. It literally feels like we have been going nonstop every day of the summer. Its not over either, the rest of the month will be lots of working, then we go to Utah for a week, then my dad and stepmom come here for a few days. Then....nothing. Yet. Maybe we'll have time for some races. That would be fun. Bodie's been itching to get a tri bike. On to new adventures!

40,000+ people

Spokane holds Hoopfest every June, and this year Bodie played on a team with some friends. Us Wife's decided to show our support by making tee's.

The boys played some good games, but didn't go far with the losses.

We spent the 4th of July in Coeur d'Alene at the Lake. Its about as close as "beach" as we get, and its perfect.

We also participated in a Book of Mormon Read-a-thon. Over a 24hr time span, broken into 2 days, the Young Women completed reading the entire Book of Mormon. Because I was 1st counselor I was able to be there and it was an amazing testimony builder and experience to share with my sis. It sure was a challenge, but well worth it! We also are currently working on our personal progress together, even though we're 15hrs away.

After Emily went back to Utah we played some more rounds of golf. A few days later Bodie left to L.A.

What we thought would be 3 weeks turned into 5+ weeks. So during that time I had the wonderful opportunity to move out of our old place, and fix up the new one to get moved into. Here are some before and afters. Disclaimer: I have had zero experience painting, and this was not fun AT ALL, but the pics dont even do it justice. It smelled of smoke HORRIBLY, also the carpet was discusting, as were the walls, ceiling, every inch basically. Why did we move? A few reasons. #1 sick of apt complex's, not quite ready to buy. We felt like this would be a good transition until we're ready to buy (which we are hoping to do soon) #2 better, safer area. Especially for me when Bodie is out of town. #3 cheaper and BIGGER. Not much else to say about that. And #4 its in the ward boundaries for a ward that we have really wanted to be in for a while. It was such a blessing for us. It gives us the opportunity to save even more money to buy our first home. I think it turned out fine for the next year or so...

Thank goodness for large rugs and home decor. Also can I just point out that ALL the furniture you see here, end tables, couches, corner desk, entertainment center, tv, dvd player...all FREE. Also those throw pillows, especially made by me and my friend Brene'e who helped out a ton.

SO thats about it. Every single inch of this place was painted. Top to bottom. I am pleased with the results and look forward to living here. The great thing was that when Bodie left we still lived at our old apt. When he got back we were all moved into this place. I was so excited for him to come home this past weekend. We had so much fun, but 3 days wasn't long enough. I cant wait for him to come back in 2-4 weeks, and then we're off to Utah. Cant wait to see you family and friends. Its amazing to me how blessed we are. Life really is so great! Although my babe is gone, im doing fine, and I know its because Heavenly Father is helping me out. So excited for life and the next adventure! This weekend we have a big company event here in Spokane at our office, and I am really looking forward to it. Work is going great, our new ward is awesome (although for a while there people were wondering if I was single or seperated, so it was nice when Bodie was able to be here last weekend), and we are both doing great. Healthy as can be and are surrounded by wonderful friends that we have made since living here the past 2 years. Lastly, for those of you who might be wondering, No, we are not pregnant...yet!

BIG shout out to Emily my sister who I LOVE so much! She just went into 7th grade and she made the Volleyball team! Today was their first game against Canyon View and she played both J.V and a 7th graders game. Lost J.V but won the other. So proud of you Em! Keep it up!

Missing this guy

Having been married for almost 4 years now, the longest Bodie and I have ever spent apart is about 2 days. Last Sunday I dropped him off at the airport, in the pouring rain (the lasted for days), so he could arrive in 90 degree weather in Pheonix, AZ. Lucky him! He went there on business, and wont be back for another week, and man is he livin the good life! Why might you ask? Well just to name a few things he's been up to: Fine dining, golphing, basking by the pool, visiting with good friends that we miss so much, and last but certainly not least attending major league baseball games...(just to name a few)

The day I dropped him off was tough. Monday morning I kinda snapped out of it I guess and was busy with work all week. The week has been pretty good. I have to say, Bodie isnt at all a messy guy, but its amazing how tidy its been around the house, and how everything just stays in its place. I have enjoyed that. I cant believe a full week has gone by, and I cant WAIT to see my baby on Saturday. I look forward to hearing about his adventures this week. As for my fun this week, well I treated myself to a nice little pedicure, and also took my young women to the driving range to hit a few balls and out for ice cream for their activity. We had a fun time. Now back to work tomorrow, gonna be a great week! Looking forward to 1pm Saturday afternoon!

Break-Up.

Alright. This post is more for me to vent, that for you to read. Before I get too much into it just know this: I LOVE hair. It is my passion. I especially love changing my own hair. 2 yrs ago when we made the decision to move to Spokane, I decided to go platinum blonde. Couple reasons, 1st-it was Bodie's idea, and I LOVED the idea, and also because I knew it was something I could maintain myself, seeing as how I would no longer be in a salon (getting hair done for free) and wasn't about to go spend $100 bucks to get a root retouch. Now 2 years later, I had perfected what I truly have LOVED...BLONDE. Just so fun. Now most people that have platinum hair, also have fried hair. But not mine. So soft, so healthy, so....white. No yellow. How great. How HARD to get it so perfect. Recently a few people, mostly Bodie, have been nagging me to change it. I think because he was sick of helping me do the back, EVERY 4-5 weeks (thanks babe!) I did start doing it myself the last few times, which worked ok, but wasnt something I looked forward to when the time came. Anyway, getting off track...So the last few months I have let the idea of adding some brown, doin a little more dark blonde..creep into my thoughts. Back and forth I would think, "Why would I change such a perfect, hard to reach color?" Then the flip side, "these roots are SO annoying!", and "oh how I wish I could swim in that pool with out risking green hair.." I gradually decided that change is good, that when we start having kids it will be really tough to keep up, and also feeling like platinum was super fun when my hair was really short and funky, but now that im growing it out its not the same. About a month ago, I found a fabulous pic, called my aunt (who did my hair for years), we decided on what we thought would be a good formulation...waited a while longer, and then I guess I decided it was time. I called my friend Brene'e yesterday to tell her I was FINALLY ready, and I went in right after that. I dont know if I was ready! Too late now. The color turned out fairly decent. The only problem is that I have somewhat gold roots, and I just keep thinking, "What!? I went from beautiful platinum, to orange roots!? NO!" Brene'e did so good though, just as I asked. But...today I just feel like....I broke up with my hair, and I miss it, and I want it back. I told Bodie and he said, "forget about it..it was a clean break." Kinda funny, but seriously, I miss it. The best way for me to describe it is when you were dating, and you broke up with someone because you knew it was gonna be better for you in the end, but its so hard right now, and you kinda just wanna get back together. I know this sounds CRAZY. I promise I am not vain, please dont think that. I just grew really attached, and I am kinda feeling like I gave in to peer pressure, when I really LOVED my hair the way it was. It would be so hard to go back. So I know I just need to wait it out. I also know that in a year, or probably even 6 months from now I will look back and think, "Seriously Katie, that was ridiculous, its hair, you needed to grow up." But right now...I really miss it. So there you have it. My break-up. I guess onto bigger and better things...is this a sign that I am not ready to be a mom yet? That i'm Selfish? Ugh I bet...I really need to get over this. I just really really love hair. So that's it. That's my vent. Because trust me, Bodie does NOT want to hear about it. He can't blame me though, even he said it needs to be fixed. Right when I walked in he looked @ me (I kept a straight face, no sign of whether I liked or disliked it), and looked @ it for a bit, then said "Do you not like your hair?" He actually disliked it I think a little more than me! That's the worst! I do, however, appreciate that I have a husband who really takes interest in what I look like, and also wear (he is a great personal stylist, yay for me!) Ok, I have to be done now. Its over. Maybe ill retouch my roots in a few days to get some gold out. So that's that. Thank you for sharing my break-up with me...if you are even still reading :) Pics.......

The Results: Overall its not bad, but I am really picky, and the roots are gold, and some of the hair looks gray-ish to me. That's fixable though..

I suppose this post will be fun to look at later in life, and in a couple months from now, along with a few changes I will probably love my hair. Oh and by the way, this is the goal:

Our race came and went, and it was AMAZING! Get ready for picture overload!

To kick it off I borrowed some awesome pics from the official website for your viewing pleasure. Kenyans have won 16 of the last 18 years. However this year an Ethiopian lady won it!

Avg finish time for this amazing group of runners was between 32-35 min!

This, my friend, is known as DOOMSDAY HILL. Highly anticipated by all Bloomies.

Crazy to think we were in that mix...W.O.W.

Can I just say that this run was one of the.most.FUN times we have had here in Spokane!? Bodie and I were seriously loving every second of it. We each had our own personal goals we wanted to achieve, and were just so excited, counting down the days. May 1st was here quick! We woke up and outside it looked pretty lousy. Foggy, and it was COLD. We were somewhat undecided on what exactly to wear (the news earlier in the week said it would be in the 60's). Needless to say, we decided on what we thought would be proper clothing, and were off to the race! Also, its a tradition on Bloomsday to toss clothing items up into the trees, and later-post race volunteers gather all the clothing to donate to different charities around the community. We decided to wear some things we knew we could live without, and live the tradition!

We found pretty dang good parking and headed to the starting line. Along the way we crossed a bridge (one of 3) that people were slowly but surely filling up.

Its funny because we seriously, well at least I, was SO dang cold. Of course the excitement overpowered that though.

As you can see, the blue skies starting pulling through, I snapped this quick shot of the beautiful Spokane River.

Another bridge across from us that people were filing across. At this point I was thinking, wow there's suppose to be 50,000-60,000 people, where are they all?? And then we came to the starting road...

If you look hard enough, you can see how far back the group goes, and this is only ONE of the 8 (i think) color groups.

I wanted to show these cool tags that were used to track everyones time. Bloomsday is the longest, biggest race in the country that uses these "D-Tags" to accuratly track EVERYONES time. Pretty sweet.

At this point we decided it was warm enough, (and close enough to starting!) that we could shed some clothes.

As our group continued to move toward the start line, I help but take pictures of just a couple of the trees drooping over with clothes, as well as the heeping PILES of clothing around them! And let me tell you what, who ever gets some of those clothes, got some seriously GREAT deals. We eyed a few things that I wish we could have grabbed haha!

It truly turned out to be the BEST weather we could ask for. Luckily we wore the perfect attire. All along the way there were various bands performing, and people cheering you on. It was such a great environment. There were so many people around you at all times, you often had to weave in and around people, some times they would suddenly cut you off, which was annoying, but great fun nonetheless! Great Experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hey everyone! I am challenging myself to keep up on the blog @ least once a month if not more. I realize that we live quite far from family and friends and they would probably appreciate the updates. I cant believe we have already lived in Spokane for 1 1/2 years! Its finally starting to feel like home. The first winter we were here, it didnt snow at all. This last winter snowed a ton! Bodie got a new snowboard package for Christmas, and I think he went boarding literally EVERY weekend in January and February. He said the mountains/resorts here are nothing compared to Utah's, but they'll do :)

We used to be in Sunbeam teacheres at church, which was a complete blast, and now Bodie is in the Sunday School Presidency, and I am the 1st Counselor in Young Womens. Its somewhat new for the both of us, so we are still getting use to it. I think YW is going to be really fun.

We went home to visit family back in December for Bodie's sisters wedding, and it was a great visit! We went to Boise for a company event in February, and we have a natiowide company convention in Atlanta, Georgia in June! So excited to go. In July Bodie's parents ar coming up to visit around the 4th of July. Also my little sister Emily is coming to stay with us for a few weeks. We are gonna have a blast! Cant wait to see them. I dont think we will be going home again until September, but when we do we cant wait to see everyone again!

I am sure some of you are wondering, no we are not pregnant :) Our 4 year anniversary is coming up in 2 months (WOW!) and we have just had too much fun the last 4 years. Kids are definitely on the agenda, just not sure when.

We are working really hard to open our own office here by the end of the year. We really enjoy helping families. Its really rewarding. Definitely tough getting your own business going, but so worth it.

Since living in Spokane, we have really enjoyed getting into fitness. There are SO many races/runs held here literally every weekend during summer/fall. We did quite a few 5k's last year, and Bodie did some 1/2 marathons as well. I would like to work up to a marathon, and Bodie is really wanting to start easing into training for Ironmans. Spokane is a GREAT area for running, biking, and swimming.

Bodie and I just registered for Bloomsday! Coming up the first of May! We are super excited about it. If you are unfamiliar with Bloomsday, I will share some info...

Bloomsday is a race held every year here in Spokane and is 12 kilometers (7.46 miles). This year is the 35th running held. You can run, jog, or walk the race. On average over 50,0000 people travel to Spokane to run this race...its a pretty big deal! There are all different categories you can run as well, for example, if you want to be in the Elite group, you have to pre qualify with previous years race times, or other race time qualifications. Bodie and I will be running in the lower bracket since we dont have those qualifications...yet! Maybe next year? Hope so! Bodie is a great runner, I know he will do amazing. He is so mentally tough its ridiculous. I haven't ever ran a race this long, so I am just hoping to run the whole thing without walking at all haha!

My good friend Maria Gertsch just made these cute custom home decor wall hangings for me! I am in LOVE with them. She did SUCH a great job! I am really excited about these, and will definitely be getting more of her stuff. They are such great quality, and she is SUPER picky, which is GREAT. We recently went to another Spokane Chiefs Hockey game, these games are so much fun! Thats one thing we love about Spokane, they have local Hockey team, Spokane Indians minor league baseball team, and Spokane Shock arena football league. These games are so much fun!!

Long time, no nothing!

Its pretty bad when you go to sign in and you have to take a couple seconds to remember your password! I doubt many will read this because I havent updated for about 5 months, but I had some extra minutes before my next interview comes in so I thought I share some updated info!

Can I just say one word to explain our lives?? BUSY. I know, I know, very cliche', but SO true!

I think you can have good busy, and bad busy, luckily ours is GOOD busy. VERY good busy.

We are having a complete blast here in Spokane! I cant believe it's been 8 months! Are you kidding me? How crazy is that. Its been such a blurr. Looking back on the past 8 months is pretty wild. When we first got here it took 2 months for us to get our licences transferred in order to be paid on ANY business. Finally after that got taken care of we were able to really get to work. Our business has absolutely exploded! We are perfectly on track to having our very own office by this July. SO EXCITING! What a great opportunity it is. I often find myself thinking in amazement at how blessed we are. We work this business together, and by doing so are able to have the same goals, dreams, visions, and determination to be successful. Its incredible! How many people at our age are able to work together and have a successful business thats continually growing and thriving? Plus, we have the most loving and supportive family one could ever ask for, and the best calling in church-Sunbeam teachers! :)

Its been so fun. This last weekend Bodie was in a 20 hr loan class to become a loan officer (woohoo!) and so I had the sunbeams all to myself. 6 of them! CRAZY. It was quite the handfull but such a great experience, as is every week.

So basically for the past 5 months we've been working hard building a business, loving our little sunbeams, and enjoying every second of eachother. Well...maybe not every second, but most of the time! ;)

I had my 23rd Birthday last Wednesday which was great. I did some shopping, then we went to dinner @ Black Angus, and to a movie with some good friends/business partners. It was a great day.

Life is good, and I wouldn't change a thing! Although, I do miss Utah and especially our family! Cant wait to see you guys! (Hopefully you get your little behinds here someday! *hint hint*)

Updates Galore

FINALLY got some updates. Well I guess I have had them for quiet a while, but I just now have had the time to actually update. So be ready for alot of random pics. We have had quite the past few months, busily working, but of course some fun and play time. Recently, well I guess it almost a month ago (!) we were able to go to Utah for a conference and had a great time there. I didnt get as many pics as I would have liked but hey, better than nothing.

We were in Utah the weekend right before Halloween, so we went to some fun Halloween parties here in Spokane on Halloween. We pulled out the ole cowboy and indian costumes..it was a fun night!

While we were @ home we carved pumkins with both my family as well as Bodies. They all turned out great! From left to right: Courtneys, Glyns, Mine, Emily's, and Bodies. Pretty cool huh?

So on our way to Utah we stayed at Kody's uncles BEAUTIFUL ranch in Montana. There was a HUGE roping arena there, and that has always been one of Bodies biggest dreams, to have our own land, and a big arena just like this one. He was in heaven..It was sure fun living the dream for that one day!

The individual stalls...This is the inside of the main office at the Ranch. It was so awesome. It was originally built in the 1800's in I think Pennsylvania, and then hauled to Montana!

Here is the outside, they re-did the while thing, it was pretty junky when they started. Now its so beautiful and antique.

This is the driveway coming into the ranch...they said its so green in the summer! There are 88,000 acres and a TON of wildlife! We actually up around the property and saw 4 huge moose.

A few weeks back we had "Super Saturday" at the church. I learned quite the crafts. Those of you that know me know that im not crafty at all so I took advantage of a few things to learn.

I've always wanted one of the FHE boards, even though we dont have kids yet, I sanded everything, painted it all, sanded some more, and applied the labels, ribbon, etc... I really like how it turned out! SO easy too!

I have also always really liked these cute magnetic boards. Same process with these ones, I really like the way it turned out.

I also made this one for my good friend Ash for her birthday. It goes great with her "cowboy" themed home decor.

Last but not least, HOMEADE Mint Chocolate Truffles. SO yummy! Also, learned to make these at the Super Saturday. So easy and amazingly delicious.

I snapped of few pics of this tree changing colors, this is outside our balcony. The picture doesnt do justice of course, but was so RED and changed quick. It was pretty!

Slip-n-Slides, Halloween, and Pig out in the Park

Here we are again with another handfull of photo's and fun! So get ready...lots of pictures!

Here we have a GIGANTIC homeade slip n slide. We went on an appt a couple weeks back and this family had such a nice home up in the mountains as well as some great property. They decided to use their resources and created this huge slide. It was so awesome. There was a HUGE pool at the bottom, all made from tarps, and ropes. It looked so much fun. Bodie wanted to go down so bad, but unfortunatly we weren't dressed for the activity! haha...and that probably wouldnt have been too professional ;)

As you can see we are getting pretty excited for Halloween this year. Last year we didnt dress up, for some unknown reason, but not this year! We went into this Halloween store with Kody and Ashley and tried on some funny masks. Here is Kody and Bodie, they dont look too different from their usual selfs...anyone agree??

Last weekend there was the annual "Pig Out in the Park" downtown Spokane. Basically there over 100 food vendors with over 250 menu items. They had quite the selection! Lots of great food. There were lots of booths and lots of people!

Bodie is learning!!! He will be a great dad...haha.

We are having so much fun here. We are, of course, keeping PLENTY busy, but we definitely still find time for some fun! Making memories, and loving every second of it. Also, me and the girls went downtown yesterday and went to lunch at the Olive Garden. It was a much needed break away from husbands, and kids. We had alot of fun! Good times!!!

Yet another adventure.

WELL. Those of you who know Bodie, and Kody for that matter, KNOW that it wasnt going to be long before we wenting jumping off those same cliffs posted in the previous post. Saturday seemed like a great day to go back to Coeur D'Alene to go cliff jumping. We set out on our adventure. Here we are starting the trail to the cliffs. A moose was there to greet us... Here we have Bodie (grey) and Kody (red) marching their way to the awaited cliffs.

This cliff, according to the boys, was WAY to small, and just wasnt going to do for what they had planned.

Kody decided to take a quick minute jumping along the rocks. It was only about a 15 ft drop. No big deal. I know you will love that Ash.

Bodie took the first jump. I believe the words that came out of his mouth werent really words, more like shreaks due to the coldness of the water.

We decided that we could get better pics from underneath, they turned out pretty dang cool. Also, notice the dark clouds accumulating. This is Kody.

The storm was rolling quickly, but they just kept jumping...over and over and over. All the time encouraging me to jump. They assured me that the water wasnt cold...right...after those shreaks? I dont think so. Not to mention the scary storm rolling. This is Bodie.

We decided to take cover for a while under some trees. Smart right? I know. We waited here for about 15 min and the rain was just POURING. It was crazy how much was coming down.

Notice that my hair is absolutely DRENCHED. I didnt not step foot in the lake. This was all rain baby!

Trails that were dry just moments earlier became huge puddles and streams of water.

It was INSANE how much water came down in such a short amount of time. As much as I would have loved the sunshine, I must admit, it was really really fun!

Later that day... got home, got showered up and ready to go out & about again.

He was just a little guy. The other ones we saw there were HUGE. It was awesome. I think we saw a total of 9 there that day. I just wanted to keep it SO bad. But I knew I would get bored of it soon, so I let him go...until next time ;)

While I wanted to keep it... Bodie, on the otherhand, wanted to eat it. ...While Kody wanted IT to eat HIM.

Spokane is simply wonderful. We absolutely love it here. We have been here now one month and feel right at home. We know our way around quite well, but are still learning of great new areas that are so beautiful. We have a list of lakes that we need to attend, but have currently been visiting Liberty Lake, which is about 10 min away. Also running straight through the city is the beautiful Spokane River. It winds around and also has some fun rapids here and there. A couple Saturdays ago we got with some good friends and went floating down the river. It was a complete blast. We ran to a store and grabbed some tubes and were on our way. We ended up floating for just about 3 miles, but it was so ridiculously slow that we ended up quitting way before our expected destination. We had been floating for 3 hours!!! The rapids were way fun though. We met some great people along the way down the river as well. Another thing we did was go up to the South Hill to help a girl we met do some electrical work on her new house. Bodie was so kind to offer a helping hand. When we left we were cruising down the hill and came across a park that had a road that wound clear through it and there were various designated areas with different flowers. I took a few pics of the hundreds of flowers and included them down below. Also, we decided to hop across the border to Idaho and visit Coeur D'Alene. Its about 20 min away from us. We walked around the shops downtown and also around the dock. It was so beautiful..far more beautiful that Spokane, and that's really saying something! I cant wait to get on that lake and do some boating. I would love to have a lake house out at Coeur D'Alene. It's amazing. I also included more of those pictures below. It's been so great up here. We are super busy, busier than we've ever been, but are doing it together and its a complete blast. It's crazy to me to think that we are so young, and have this great opportunity to be our own bosses and build an incredible business together. We get to be together all day everyday, working on the same goals and dreams, and we wouldn't have it any other way. I really hope all is going well with all of you friends and family back home. Welcome to Coeur D'Alene...

The awesome dock that we walked around...

It was fun walking around the whole thing. The weather was absolutely PERFECT. Couldn't have been better.

There were so many boats at the dock. Can't wait to have one of our own.

I tried to get as close as possible but there are people standing on this mountain side jumping off cliffs. It looked like SO much fun! We'll definitely be trying that.

The lake is really really big! It's so pretty and clear. We also found this local burger n shakes place. It was great!

Bodie had been waiting pretty much the whole time we've been here to get a huckleberry shake, those berries are quite popular around here and in order to pick some you have to climb clear up in the mountains. He finally got his hands on one, everytime we have thought to get one the places are closed!, not today though. He LOVED it. I asked him if it was worth the wait, he said, "No...I shouldnt have waited. It's way too good."

Driving into the city of Coeur D'Alene there are these random statue feathers in the middle of the roads. They were pretty cool. This is just a quick drive by shot.

Bodie and I kinda stole this flower secretly to snag a picture. The flowers were SO beautiful! I wanted to pick a bunch and take them home. I really like how this pic turned out.

The flowers were so bright and crisp. I had never seen alot of them. This leaf was HUGE...as you can tell.

There were just isles of flowers. It was so refreshing!

This was really neat to see, all the flowers so orderly. It looked great.

Obviously pics never do justice, but all these rows of rose bushes were all so bright and pretty! It was a great setting for a wedding or something.

Here is Liberty Lake, also a pretty good sized lake. There were lots of fish in there. Also, turtles bigger than my hand, as well as lots of frogs and snakes in the swampy area...

For the life of me I cannot figure how to put the posts in order, so if you want to read about our adventure from start to finish, instead of the other way around, it would probably be best. Plus, I tried to write them that way so it makes alot more sense. So scroll down to post #1!!

I have had special requests of our apartment pics and I knew I couldn't not put them so here you go...I know its picture overload but I tried to be as detailed as possible.

and thats it for now because my camera just died...so sorry no bedroom pics. But you go down the hall past the bathroom and our room is straight ahead. As you can notice we have no furniture. We sold all of it. Entertainment center, couches, chairs, kitchen table, dressers for our clothes, ...all of it, So we are sitting on camp chairs. Also our good friends Trevor and Emily let us borrow their really nice big desk for a while until we get our own. We also brought our own washer and dryer but they have them in our apt so we are storing them in our garage that also came with the apt. I hope all the news and pictures help out. We are really excited for all of our family and friends to learn about where we are! Sorry the pics didnt come sooner, life is busy right now! I really am going to try and commit to at least 1 really good blog a month, hopefully more. Definitely when things get a bit more settled. Can't wait to hear from all of you! We miss you lots!!! Thanks again to our family, all our parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins for supporting us in this next step in our lives! We'll keep in touch! Please do the same! From Idaho to Montana to Washington!!! (Post #2)

So we finally got to Montana and it was beautiful! There were SO many trees these pictures dont even do it justice. Plus I was driving while taking pictures so some of them have glares. Anyway, we made it to Dillion Montana and decided to stay the night. We were on track, according to our gps, to arrive in WA at like 4:00 am. We really didnt want to arrive there in the dark, so we stayed at a hotel and rested. I was kinda coming down with sore throat too so I definitely needed my rest :) Anyway, Tuesday morning we woke up and got back on the road. It was a beautiful day! I was getting a pretty bad cold, which kinda sucked, but oh well. Anyway, we stopped in the most random town -Anaconda- was the name of it...weird...and I thought we could just jump off the exit and grab some breakfast real quick. Well after getting off the exit it honestly took like 10 minutes just to actually get into the freakin town! I was so hungry that we just kept driving. Finally when we got to the town, we found a local family restuarant and went and had some awesome waffles, and biscuits and gravy. It ended up being a huge mining town and it was so dang small. Right next door was a taxedermy place so of course Bodie had to go check out all the stuffed animals....here's a few pix of what we found...

There was SOOO many different ones in there it was crazy. .They were all so good too, there were zebras and all this cool stuff. After that were back on the road!

It seemed like it was taking SO long to get there. I was trying not to think of the time but it was like the next thing you knew you had been driving three hours! Then the next sign to Couer D'Alene (30 min outside of Spokane) was like 200 miles +!! We again stopped a few times to stretch our legs and get gas, I also had to stop and get some medicine, my throat and stuffy nose were killing me...we just kept driving and driving and driving. I think, well I know, that a big reason that it took us so long to get there was because we had to go about 60 mph the whole way cuz of the trailer. Luckily Montana really was so scenic and beautiful, just like family and friends described. There were just so many trees coving the mountains like a big blanket, and also just like walls on the sides of the roads.
We finally crossed back into the Idaho border and we were feeling really excited to finally be there, and mostly to QUIT DRIVING!!! Northern Idaho was also really pretty. Just so much dang green! I loved it! We finally made it to Couer D'Alene and WOW! What can I say! It really was just like people described. Just such beautiful country! It was amazing. The lake is HUGE and so perfect. I cant wait to go spend some time there out on the lake. The actual town is really pretty there too, I definitely wouldnt mind having a lake house there! Well at this point it was about 4:30pm and we about 20 miles outside of Spokane. We had been in touch with some friends that were already up there so we decided to meet them at the office.
I didnt take any picture of the city, but I will try to describe it. The best way is this: We live in a forest! Well just imagine a city comparable to Provo, but with tons of trees everywhere. Literally. Off the side of the freeway, streets, up street hills, just everywhere. The sun was bright and shining, and the weather felt great. We got to the office and met some of our friends there and then went to look at a couple places. We had been looking at some apts online and had some in mind, so first we went straight to an apt complex we had been eyeing, we ended up not liking it. Then we went to Liberty Lake, which is also a really beautiful lake about 10 minutes away where our friends live. (We stayed with the Kings for the next few days until we were able to find our own place, thanks guys!) The next day we went to hunt out apartments. We looked at a bunch, you would be suprised how many there are. We finally found one that was perfect for us, right in our budget, close to the office, and in a nice area. It took us about three days to get in cuz their credit check/background stuff/referrals etc...over the next couple days while waiting to move in we checked out the town...Probably one of the biggest thing to get used to are one way streets. There are a bunch of them and they start and end very abruptly. It's really easy getting around though. We also took a ride to see the temple right there in Spokane Valley where we're living. It's probably 5 minutes away from us. You cant see it though anywhere, not even on the freeway, its pretty hidden, and also really small...here is a some pic... Notice the EXREMELY blue sky??? Yeah its so been so sunny and hot here! Its funny how some people told us to prepare for rain everyday, and we have had nothing but sun everyday now for 8 days straight. No rain whatsoever.
We went downtown Spokane one day for a little bit and there is a really cool park with booths, and a carnival that's there all the time. I took some great pics of what is looks like right in the middle of downtown Spokane....

Isnt it BEAUTIFUL??? Who wouldnt want to live here, the weather is great and its just so pretty. The people are so nice and so welcoming, everyone is so friendly. There are so many great places to shop and restuarants to eat at...I will get more pics as time goes on of the valley and some other cool things, afterall we've only been here a little over a week and we still have a lot to see!

WOW. We are finally here in Washington. We have actually been here for a week and 2 days. We have been SO incredibly busy with finding an apartment and the business that this is the first chance I've had to set some time aside to give everyone a preview of our trip getting here and our new place we're calling home! I apologize to those who have been patiently awaiting for news, pictures, everything. Thanks for being so patient! Now before I get into all the details about Washington so far, I want to start off by describing our fun little road trip! So this first post is going to be about leaving Utah, and arriving to Idaho...

ABOVE: Just getting ready to leave the house. All packed up, and ready to go! This was a monday and ALL DAY Sunday we packed up everything and it was a pretty exhausting day. Bodie's mom was there to help us and send us on our way. Without her helping us pack and completely cram our cars, not to mention take loads of our stuff home that we couldn't fit, we definitly would have struggled. THANKS SO MUCH!!! Also a HUGE thanks to Bodie's aunt Yoli, and cousins Austin, and Oshai for helping pack/load. My car was jam packed as well as Bodies truck. We also pulled a trailer behind loaded with more stuff. It might not look like alot but believe me, it was. We both had our own drivers seats with some space in our center consol. That's about it. Both vehicles were stuffed, we couldnt see out our back windows at all. We left bright and early monday morning and the plan was to make it there, a 12 hr drive, but the end of the day...

BELOW: This is pretty much what I looked at almost the whole way there...the back of Bodies truck/trailer. Very exciting. Bodie kept losing track of how fast he was going so the trailer would start rocking, it was scary! Luckily we had walkie talkies with us so I could keep him in check! Also, I really tried to take in the beautiful scenery most of the trip out of Utah provided...also very exciting. Can you tell how excited I was??? Nice...dead...fields.

...It seemed like half the trip was just getting out of Utah! We stopped in Salt Lake to visit my dad and stepmom on the way out. It was great to see them. Then we swung by the mall to grab Bodie some sunglasses...then we were on our way again.
BELOW: Ok now we're getting somewhere. These next few pictures are of Idaho. Seeing some rolling hills was nice, as well as some green. We also saw a GIGANTIC Budweiser plant, it was huge. Kinda cool... We also decided to take some time to see the water falls and the temple in Idaho Falls. It was so pretty. It was a very refreshing break.

The temple was beautiful...Bodie had never been there and he thought the falls were really something else. We had some fun taking pictures. By this time is was about 4-5pm, thats right we had been on the road for 9 hrs, but had stopped probably a total of 3...so we were a little behind. We really wanted to enjoy the trip, which we did. Any way, moving right along... MONTANA.

I had a few extra minutes to check my blog so I thought I would add a couple small things.

1. We are officially moving July 17th to Spokane, and are VERY excited. Thanks to ALL of our family and friends for being so supportive.

2. Our 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY is coming up on Monday the 8th! Yay! Can you believe it??? Two whole years.

3. Bodies's 25th! Birthday is coming up on the 18th. I can't believe he will be 25. That's almost more wierd than us being married for two years.

PAST/FUTURE UPDATES

Life is still so crazy and busy and...awesome! Bodie and I only have internet on our phones, and the screen is so small that I cant hardly stand to be on it long. We were going to get the internet at our new place, which is still located in Cedar City, just out in the boonies, but we aren't going to get it anymore. First, Just a quick word about the previous post, my little sister Emily was baptized about a month ago and it was SO awesome!!! Bodie baptized her and it was such a great day. Also, the next weekend (May 2nd) was my graduation from SUU!! My mom, stepdad, two sisters, and also dad and stepmom all came down to attend. President Monson spoke and it was AMAZING!!!! He was great, very exciting. Later that day we all headed to St George to stay at my dad's resort thing and it was such a blast. Our good friends Kody and Ashley also came to hang out. We went swimming, barbequed, and just relaxed in the wonderful weather all evening. It was probably one of the best days ever, having all my close family, all my parents, together at the same place. That has NEVER happened. LOVE YOU ALL!!! p.s. it is THE BEST FEELING EVER to know that I will NEVER have to spend another dime or another minute sitting in a college class. YESSS!!! Another thing that happened during all these events, including moving to our new place, was that someone, still unknown, got ahold of my debit card info and took almost $1000 bucks out of our account! It sucked so bad. Luckily the bank caught it while it was still pending so we got all our money back in about 2 weeks. The people that took it was from the country Dubai. Weird. So I think thats mainly all that's happened in the past month and a half. Baptism, identity theft, graduation, and finally...moving. BUT dont worry! It doesnt end there until recently. Just when we thought we were getting settled in, yet another surprise! and NO. Its not what most of you are thinking, I AM NOT PREGNANT! haha... but...Bodie and I are MOVING! Once again! Most of you already know, but while I have been in the salon and Bode has been doing electrical work, we have also been working together part time for Primerica. A financial company that helps families become debt free, and financially independent. It's been so amazing and the income has been better than our other jobs, not mention the fact that we get to help families in a way that they never thought possible. So rewarding!!! Well an amazing opportunity presented itself to us about 2 weeks ago. Our Regional Vice President who owns our office in St George is expanding into Spokane Washington and has asked us to come help open the office and get things going! We, of course, said YES! We are moving to Spokane in July and just cant even wait. We are so blessed for this great opportunity and the freedom that we will recieve from working with Primerica. We plan to make our home there as well as start our family. We will surely miss our family and friends, but know that this is the best decision for our future goals and dreams! Later we will be able to spend and much time as we want with them for as long as we want!!! Thats all the updates for now! Very exciting times! Hope all is well with all of you! I have a ton of pics to post of everything that has happened, but dont have my camera with me right now. That's also the reason we arent getting the internet, 2 months? Not worth it. WELCOME TO NINJA~ Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi....This is my one of my favorite restaurants. I will share with you why...

I personally do not like sushi..or any seafood for that matter.
this soup and salad was very yummy though ! A great way to start out...

We sat at the Habachi (?) Grill and had this talented chef whip up our food...literally. He had so many cool tricks, tossing up eggs, throwing stuff around, and he stacked uo an onion and started in on fire!

He was very quick with his hands. We asked him where he learned how to do it all he said SUU...which was obviously a huge joke.

For my dinner I had way yummy new york steak and chicken. It honestly is amazingly good. We also had fresh zuccini and mushrooms for our vegi's, and fresh made fried rice and noodles. It was all made right in front of us. As fresh as it gets! Bodie had Streak and Shrimp. He saved a couple shrimps and went around the table and tossed them into our mouths. I did it so I could try and catch it and it actually tasted really good!

We had a couple close friends come with us. Kody (Sorry Ash couldn't make it!) and also Justin and Amy! We love these guys! They helped make my birthday a blast. Also the chef brought me out some really interested ice cream. I can't remember the name but all around the ice cream was a sponge like cake texture. IT WAS YUMMY!

I absolutly LOVE Ninja. It's so fresh, yummy, and PLENTY of food. Plus you get a GREAT show! Thanks to those who made my birthday a blast. Sorry my pictures are really blurry. I think it's time for a new camera! Maybe next year.

Also, I wanted to post a pic of my new boots but I haven't got them back yet with the new size. Soon I hope!

The Big 22

I am sitting at school right now while waiting for my next class so I thought I would post. Unfortunately I don't have my camera cord here so I cant upload any pics. I will do that later this weekend. Well Tuesday was my 22nd birthday. It was a fun day. Monday I was really sick with body aches and a congested head, so Tuesday I was still recovering but I still felt good. I actually am STILL recovering today...Friday. I went from body aches, to congested head on Tuesday, to no voice on Wednesday, to sore throat yesterday, and today I have that terrible hacking cough. UGh...long week. Anyway, back to my birthday. The morning started out with lots of Happy Birthday texts. By 9:30am I had received texts from all my really close friends, and family. Thanks for thinking of me! Also, my good friend Tiff who is in Florida serving a mission sent me a birthday card! She is so sweet. She is so busy out there and still found the time to send me a birthday card that arrived ON my birthday. I just love her. I went to the salon and did hair most the day...I ended up leaving the salon at 8:00 that evening! When I got home I hurried to freshen up to go to dinner. Before we left, our bishopric stopped in to sing me happy birthday, it was awesome. Then I opened some gifts from our good friends Kody and Ashley King. They gave me lots of goodies, and a Movie. Thanks guys! You're awesome. Then I opened Bodie's gift. New cowgirl boots from Jolley's! I was so surprised. I absolutley love them. I can't wait to get a pic on here for you guys to see. He did SO SO good. Thanks Bode, I sure do love ya! Then us and a couple friends went out to dinner at Ninja Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi. We sat at the Habachi (?) grill and it was awesome. The pictures will tell all. It was so much fun. What a great birthday. I have such a great husband, as well as family and friends. A Time to Brag

Ok so I need to brag a little. For those of you that know me well, you know that I DO NOT COOK. At all. For those of you that don't know me, I DO NOT COOK...At all. I never cooked while growing up and since I have been on my own in college I have never really had a desire to cook or bake because I didn't know how. Seriously. We are talkin big time...like, when I lived in a little white house while attending CEU, with Sarin, Chaliese, and Tiff, I screwed up MAC & CHEESE. yeah that's right. Well now I have been married almost 2 years and I can probably count on one hand the times I have actually made and prepared a meal or dessert from scratch..by myself. Well earlier this morning I caught a bit from Good Things Utah, and they had some ladies on their that did "recipe blogs". They were making a main course called "Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas". It seemed simple enough and, of course, they made it seem DELICIOUS. So I thought ok, I am going to make Bodie dinner tonight and dessert. I got online and found the recipe and while searching through various recipes came across a basic chocolate chip cookie one. I decided to do that as well. Well let me just say... It turned out AMAZING. Both of them. Bodie got home from work at about 4 and the cookies were made, and enchiladas were on their way. He didnt really say much (I have made a couple things before, not bad, but not that great)..so I am sure he just figured it was some random generic thing. Well of course he ate a cookie first thing, thought they were good. Not much else. But usually when I make chocolate chip cookies they are really flat and kinda gooey..almost too gooey. You can see from the picture below that they turned out great! Fluffy and the perfect softness. As for the enchiladas...how can I put this...well this is what Bodie said after the first bite, "Oh my gosh...did you really make this or did you go buy it? This is SO good, Holy crap!" YAY! I was so happy! He went on to say, "It's the perfect amount of spiceyness, and sweetness. Wow, that's dang good." Then he got a heaping plate full and ate every last piece. It really is SO good. I loved it too! Usually I hate leftovers but I am actually glad to have more of this! Yummy. I am so proud of myself.

Ok so I know the picture doesn't do it justice, kind of a blob of mush, but believe me, IT'S THE BEST!!!

Friday night was my sister Courtney's Junior Prom. What a great night! We had fun getting her all ready for her big night. I had a lot of fun doing her hair and makeup! Her boyfriend Andrew came to pick her up in a limo...how cute. She had a hard time putting on his boutenierre (don't know how that's spelled) it was funny. They took off in the limo and then me, my sister Emily, and my Mom and Step-dad Glyn went to watch the promenade. There were so many pretty dresses! She did so good at the dance. She was so happy...and most of all looked BEAUTIFUL!!!

Some of the pictures are kind of dark, but the theme of the dance was "A Night to Treasure" They had this great ship built and they all walked out of that as they were announced. The music was off the Pirates of the Carribbean..just background music. I thought it was such a cute idea! After she did the promenade dance she had a dance with Glyn... then after that we all just took a bunch of pictures..

The night was so much fun and Emily and I had a good time picking out our favorite pictures. It was great to see other family and friends as well.

I guess it's time to post something. It seems like life has been so incredibly busy lately with school and work. I like being busy, don't get me wrong, but it's interesting when you look back at what you have accomplished by being so busy and there really isn't anything specific. Papers, books, projects, etc...not that great. I guess I am accomplishing getting a step further toward graduation! May 2nd will be the best day ever. Everyone keeps asking me what my plan is after I graduate. The answer I always give is..I dont know! Nothing! And I can't be more happy. I have had a "plan" now for a lot of years, grade school, high school, 4 years of college...and finally it's OVER! yay! I like the idea of taking it easy, and doing what I want to do. What I want to do is keep working in the salon because I love to do hair, and also build a huge business with my wonderful husband. Primerica is going great and we absolutly love it. I love doing hair, but I would rather not rely on the income, but do it just because I love it. Bodie has learned alot while being an electrician, but lets face it, neither of these occupations are going to get us the dream life we want for our family, however, Primerica will. That's one thing that we are staying plenty busy with...and loving every part of it.. Not to mention that we get to share this great opportunity with our family and friends. Spring break is just around the corner and that means about a month and a half of school left. Man how time flies. Hope all is well with all of you! Until next time...

I wish I had some pictures to post. I meant to take my camera yesterday to our superbowl party but forgot it at home. Anyway, Bodie and I were invited to go to a bowl party in St. George at a BEAUTIFUL home up in Stone Cliff. We work for a company in St.George, Primerica, and the guy that owns the office just went over a million a couple months ago. They bought the most gorgeous home with the best view in St. George. We were also there with a lot of really great friends. It was a blast. Lots a great food, theater rooms with huge flat screens, and lots more. The only thing I would change is the steelers winning...lame.(and also maybe a warmer temperature so we could have hopped in the sweet pool) Can't wait to go back! Bodie and I definitly got some great ideas for our future "dream home"! Other than that we are just keeping busy here in Cedar! Life is going great and we are excited for our future. I can't WAIT until May 2nd..graduation!

Birthday Weekend

This weekend Bodie and I went home so he could help a friend wire a house, and also because it was my sister Emily's birthday. While I was there I also put some cool colors in Courtneys hair. It looks awesome. It's a lot more vibrant in real life.

I was also able to go watch Emily's Jr. Jazz Basketball game..this is the first year she has played and she is AMAZING. She made four baskets, and missed a couple. She plays point gaurd, so she is always handling the ball and bringing it down. She is so good at defense..it's like it comes natural to her. I had a great video of her but it's not uploading for some reason. the pics I have are really dark...

She had SO much fun at her game. Everyone was yelling for her and cheering. She was definitely the allstar in the gym. It was so cute too because it was her birthday. Later Saturday night Bodie and I took Emily to Price to get her a new church dress and shoes. We also went out for ice cream. She stayed the night at Bodie's with us and we played the wii for the rest of the night. We all went to church Sunday morning, and relaxed the rest of the day. That evening we brought Emily back home and stayed for the family birthday party. We had my grandpa, aunt lisa, and cousins all there. It was really fun. She got a alot of money for her birthday..haha.

The weekend was really fun. It went by quick, as usual, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

Spring 09'

School started last week and it already feels like it's going SO slow. As I said in a previous blog, I am taking 27 credits, 4 normal go-to classes, and 5 independent classes. So far things are going well...excpet the fact that I have to buy books for every class. I usually have been lucky to not need a book at all, or just shared with a friend. All the classes are strictly communications which is great. They all kind of work together. I am planning on doing some individual projects and such for the independent classes. Overall, I think this semester is going to be a good challenge, but nothing that cant be done! I love the communications department. My professors this semester are great, and I love learning what they teach. One of my classes is a comm theory where you do your capstone. That, I believe, will be a 30 page paper. Yay! Good thing I have mentally prepared for that one. Bodie also started his next semester of electrical apprenticship schooling. I dont know how much he enjoys that...but oh well. That's school right? That's the update as of now...

Our wonderful Christmas

Ok so Christmas was great. I wanted to include some pics of Christmas morning at Bodie's home. We all got some great gifts. I got some great new shoes as well as a cute purse, and a jewelry armoire. (which I have been wanting forever.) I also got some new kitchen knives. Bodie got a p90x (and was TOTALLY suprised) and a nerf gun, some other toys, and a book. We both got great stocking stuffers, games, decorations for the house, christmas money, and lots more. It was fun. The rest of the family was really pleased with their gifts, Gloria got some really really cute wall decorations, and a foot massager, and John got some new clothes, tools, and a few other things. Brandee got some really cute clothes, a chi flat iron, and cute scentsy. Just when we thought the present opening was over Gloria suprised the family with a Wii. We had a blast playing that all week. It was fun spending my first Christmas at his house. Last year for our first one we did our own thing with the two of us in Cedar. It was nice to be around family again. We were able to visit so many family and friends that we hadn't seen in way too long. The gifts were great, but being able to relax and spend time with family and friends was definitely better. On Saturday my dad's side of the family all went up Huntintion canyon to go snow mobiling. My Dad came from Salt Lake and brought a snow mobile and it was a blast..although it was only 0 degrees outside. We had a blast the entire 5 days we were there. Now we are back in Cedar, back to work, getting ready for the New Year! I think we are going to go the the First Night in St. George. It was pretty fun last year. I hope all of you had a great Christmas this year, it was great seeing all of you! Happy New Year!!

Traditions...

Every year in December the girls get together to have dinner and catch up on life. All of our lives are so crazy, and things are always changing. We are all pretty much spread out across the state. We hardly ever get to see each other. We have made it a great tradition to meet up at least once a year. I think this was our 3rd year. We always eat at the same Applebees in Orem. It's so much fun seeing everyone. Being that all of us went to hair school together, except Nancy, our hair is always different when we see each other. It's funny. This year we missed a couple friends, Beth couldn't make it, and Tiff is on her mission in Florida! We also had a new addition to the party, Patricia's baby Baylor!! Isn't he so cute? Chaliese will have one by next Christmas, and I wouldn't be surprised if some other's do too. We'll see! We also spent some time up at my Dad's in Salt Lake. Since we cant make it up there for Christmas, we did our Christmas this weekend with them. We had a great time over the weekend and made it back to Cedar. Next we will be heading to Emery County to visit more family and friends over the Christmas holiday. I get to visit with Monique, and Jessica. I havent seen them FOREVER! I appreciate the amazing friends, and family that I have. They are the BEST in the whole world. I want to give a shout out to them! I love you guys!

Salon Christmas Party

Saturday night we had my work christmas party at Ninja Seafood and Steakhouse. It was so much fun! We sat around the grill and watched our food being cooked and flipped all around! It was awesome. The japanese chefs are amazing at what they do. They are so talented. Bodie, unfortunately, did not catch the seafood in his mouth...dang it! I had to use the kiddy chopsticks..haha. I wish I had pictures. The food was absolutely amazing. I had steak and chicken, and Bodie had steak and salmon. Man was it yummy! Janelle is so sweet, she paid for all our meals, and also gave us each a box of See's Chocolates! Even more yummy! The night was really fun, and it was snowing outside the whole time. It was really pretty. I love the girls and pete that I work with. They are so neat and fun, and I learn so much from them. Jess is from Vegas, Linz is from Texas, Janelle is from Southern Cal, and Cat is from Hollywood. I am not sure about Pete. They all bring such different styles to the salon. It's awesome. What a fun night! oh and p.s. finals are over and man am I happy. I have finished the last math class that I EVER have to take. That's a really good feeling. Can't wait to graduate in May!

Ok it has taken absolutely FOREVER to find time to do another blog. One reason being that I dont really like to post unless I have some pictures. The pictures that I finally have aren't much though. We just went through Thanksgiving with all of our families. Its really great being able to see all of them in the same area (Emery County). First we ate with Bodie's family in Huntington. Then we went to my grandmas (also in Huntington) which is my dad's side. He was down for that. Then we went to my Mom's in Orangeville later that evening. Three Thanksgivings in one day! It was great. I am pretty bad at remembering to take pictures so, of course, I finally remembered when we were at my Moms. Thats the picture above.(My Mom, Me, and sis Courtney) That's all I have got to show for the ton of family we were able to visit over the Holiday. I will work on that. None the less, I was so much fun. It was a nice break right before finals. Speaking of school, I finally registered for my LAST semester of college! Yay! I am so happy to be done...but it's without some major sacrifices. I have to take 27 credits in the spring! I know it sounds crazy, but my favorite professor/advisor is helping me out alot, and I am only actually going to 4 classes, the rest are independent. I am SO thankful for all his help. In all honesty, I probably shouldn't be graduating for another year. Another sacrifice is that I am slightly putting off the business Bodie I are building. It would go alot quicker if I could put more time into, but I can't quit school with one semester left. Bodie is still doing his electrical apprenticship with is going well for him. Fortunately, his work is staying pretty busy. Kinda suprising with all the jobs that are closing, or minimizing. They are actually hiring. It's good for him until we get our business rockin and are able to go full time. Oh and the new salon I have been at (a month now) is GREAT! I love it. I am learning new things, and making more money. It's so nice too. Well that's all the news for now. I will work on getting more pics soon. I know we are kinda boring what with no kids and all...but that's just the way it is I suppose! Hope everyone is having a wonderful time during the holiday season!

What a great weekend! Bodie's parents came to town and we had a ton of fun. Saturday morning Bodie and John left to go to the horse races in Mesquite. Gloria and I, however, didn't want to go. In the morning we went for an awesome walk/hike up a huge hill. It about killed us! It felt so good though. Then I took her to the new salon I am starting at so she could check out the new fab place. Then we were off to St. George. We went to Bodie's grandmas and I cut some hair. Then we went to Peerless and loaded up on some hair product, etc...we had lunch at Iceberg (Gloria's favorite) and headed to Costco. Gloria and John decided that for our Christmas they wanted to get us whatever we wanted from Costco. Since they most likely won't be back down here before Christmas, we did that this weekend. Let's just say Bodie and I are set for the next year! BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER! Thanks guys! You are the greatest. Also, they bought Bodie some new jeans, and shirts (much needed) and me...a new cell phone! I have had an upgrade for two months now, and the phone I had was SO junky...a hand me down phone that I had for two years. I love my new phone, and because our awesome neighbor works at Verizon we got a KILLER deal. Thanks Nick and Kelly. So then Bodie and John met us in St. George, and we went out to dinner with the rest of the family. It was way fun to see everyone. I love Bodie's family. We also did a little bit of GeoCaching around town, of course. Bodie can't get enough of it! He is quite the treasure hunter. So basically, we had a really fun weekend. Besides all the getting spoiled, we loved hangin with the parents. We also went to a haunted house...scary! They wore us out and we pretty much slept Sunday away. Fun Fun Fun....

Ouch! Slight Change of Plans...

Fortunatly for me my husband is home! He ended being at the Grand Canyon for about...4 hours. Unfortunatly for him...he sliced his arm with a exhaust fan. We had to go to the hospital for stiches. I have never watched anyone get stitches...surprisingly it made be a bit sick while watching it. After the doctor numbed the larger cut he stuck his finger in it and wiped it out...it made my stomach turn. He only had 9 stiches all together, but the cut really is gross. You could see the fat and muscle. Mmmm... Anyway, Bodie is fine!

This week is midterms, I swear it's just as bad as finals week. It's so stressful. Bodie is also leaving monday morning till thursday night for work. He gets/has to go the Grand Canyon to install electricity to 22 bathrooms. He isnt way excited because who wants to go to the Grand Canyon to work? Anyway, We dont really have too many exciting things going on here...sometimes I think if we had kids it would be more fun to this whole blog thing. Anyway, we are trying to get Bodie ready to take his residential electrical exam. That will be a huge relief when its over. I am working in a salon right now that isn't really going so well. I have been there for six months and I totally love the people I work with, but there isnt alot of color/cutting, alot of older ladies come in there. I want to go somewhere where it's a little bit younger, and also where there is more color and "crazy" hair opportunities/challenges. This week I did the coolest color though, I did a deep red color with these awesome, random copper panels. She looked so good. I love that kind of stuff. So that's another thing I am thinking about. I am going to leave this salon in a couple weeks, and figure out where else to go. I have my eye on one thats brand new here in town, and its so awesome. It's a really trendy, hip salon. I LOVE doing hair, its my passion, so I just want to be somewhere where there is more opportunity. Anyway, Bodie's parents are coming this next weekend and I am way excited. I like it when we have company come and stay. That's the update for now...now I better go study..ugh...

I have never been to conference and I really wanted to go this weekend, but we werent able to. We did, however, go to Bodie's missionary reunion Friday night. It was so much fun. I love seeing Bodie get excited to see old companions and things. It's fun to watch them interact. We were up in salt lake for that, it was a good time. We also went and watched a movie in the imax theater- eagle eye. It was really good, I thought. We had to drive all the way back to Cedar today (saturday) because I had some updo's to do in the salon. I really didnt want to drive home for one appointment, so another girl said she wanted an up do as well. She ended up not showing. So we came all the way home for one appointment. Kinda annoying. Oh well, we are lounging this evening watching movies. Plus, now instead of traveling tomorrow we can be here watching conference!

I finally convinced Bodie that we need to do a blog. He decided that if he was going to let me do anything like this, it would be a blog. (not myspace or facebook; which I agree with) So I am really excited. I hope I can get the hang of it! Things are going so well with us here in Southern Utah. As much as we love it here in Cedar, the reality is that we are only here for school, so as soon as I finish we are out of here! We think we will most likely go to St. George, depending on a few things. Bodie really wants to move to Washington State, which I think would be fine (regardless of all the rain), but we dont know when. I will finish school in May (yay!) and then we can move! We probably wont decide where we are going until a couple months before, we are usually pretty random and dont decide till last minute. We like that..We like being able to pick up and go and not have many worries. If we had kids, that would be a different story. We want to start a family when I am finished with school. Our family (especially bodie's parents!) Would love to have some grandbabies right now, but it would be kind of a bad idea when I have only 1 1/2 semesters left! Bodie is working in electrical, and doing the school for that; soon to get his residential journeymans. We are also working on some other endeavors, but that's another story for another day! Anyway, thats pretty much everything we are up to right now. Lovin life, and loving eachother! It's been over a year now that we have been married, and its...WoNdErFuL. Couldnt be better! :)
